JUNE 8 SHINRIN-YOKU & NATURE BASED CRAFT
Intro to Shinrin-Yoku and Art. Shinrin-Yoku, also known as forest bathing, is a mindfulness practice that invites the participants to immerse themselves in all of the gifts of nature. Our time together will include an intention led walk from the Bayou to a nearby location nestled in trees and streams.
Crystal will guide the walk and provide opportunities for observation and mindfulness activities utilizing all of our senses. The terrain is considered easy level. Must wear closed shoes and expect some rocky terrain due to the proximity to the streams.
Our time in nature will conclude with a tea ceremony followed by a nature based craft led by Tanja, the Lady of the Bayou.
Friday JUNE 8 from 10AM-12PM, Adults only and limited to 8 participants, Rain or Shine, $50 per person. Sign up or contact Bayou of Saddle River for more info.

Hi, my name is Tanja Israel, your host at Bayou of Saddle River. From my own lifetime of crafting I have experienced that creating something with your own hands is very satisfying and by focusing on what you're making time slows down and you become calmer. Making things together is as old as mankind and helps build strong relationships and community to thrive.
Please join us at Bayou of Saddle River, where everybody is welcome.
On Saturday, May 13, 2023 we opened our doors to joy and creativity and we want to thank you all for joining us at our beautiful location to create and mingle in Saddle River.
We offer weekly, intergenerational, programs for mothers, seniors, youth, and everyone really. ❤️
Repair Cafés are free community events and they’re all about repairing things (together). At the Repair Café you will find tools and materials to help you repair clothes, small furniture, small electrical appliances, bicycles, crockery, toys, etcetera. Expert volunteers offer their repair skills in all kinds of fields to help repair broken items brought in by visitors. It is a learning experience for young and old.
If you have nothing to repair, come anyway and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and learn by watching or you can lend a hand with someone else’s repair job. You can also get inspired at the reading table – by leafing through books on repairs and DIY.
There are over 2,500 Repair Cafés worldwide. Bayou of Saddle River is the one in your area!
See also the house rules we use at the Repair Café. We always welcome new volunteers, so please sign up!
