CRAFT WORKSHOPS
What a hidden GEM! Had my daughter's birthday party here with 14 of her friends. Tanja, the owner, was so great to work with and organized the most lovely painting party for an active group of 7 year old's! She offers a wide array of crafting and painting activities for both adults and children. I can't wait to come back for a mom's night out! - Helen
What a breath of fresh air in this busy world. Beautiful setting on the river. Lovely, unique gifts for all ages and every occasion. The most charming, welcoming shop owner makes you feel right at home the minute you step inside. Crafts of all kinds while you enjoy nature, and community, and always a cup of tea 😌. Please stop by to see for yourself….i haven’t been able to stay away. - Stephanie
An intimate space to let your mind wander through self expression. The atmosphere has such a personal touch that reflects Tanja’s deep commitment to community art no matter your media, preference or style. A very unique journey she took us on 😍 - Christian
This shop is so quaint and welcoming. Unique, beautiful and intersting items for sale. My friend and I spent over an hour exploring. The shop owner Tanya was so pleasant. She gave us "dipping" cookies and a cup of calming tea she sells in the shop. I live over an hour away but look forward to returning when I can. - Juli
Bayou is more then just a space where art is created, it's an energy, a vibration, a feeling you get when you walk in. The owner Tanja will personally greet you and gift you with her presence. At Bayou I feel like I belong, I feel like I am receiving more then the physical art that I am creating. I am grateful to have found Bayou and Tanja. - Shayna
Many nice programs for people of all ages but especially younger ones. - Lee
Beautiful gift shop & crafting space!! Lovely owner as well. - Kelly

Hi, my name is Tanja Israel, your host at Bayou of Saddle River. From my own lifetime of crafting I have experienced that creating something with your own hands is very satisfying and by focusing on what you're making time slows down and you become calmer. Making things together is as old as mankind and helps build strong relationships and community to thrive.
Please join us at Bayou of Saddle River, where everybody is welcome.
On Saturday, May 13, 2023 we opened our doors to joy and creativity and we want to thank you all for joining us at our beautiful location to create and mingle in Saddle River.
We offer weekly, intergenerational, programs for mothers, seniors, youth, and everyone really. ❤️
Repair Cafés are free community events and they’re all about repairing things (together). At the Repair Café you will find tools and materials to help you repair clothes, small furniture, small electrical appliances, bicycles, crockery, toys, etcetera. Expert volunteers offer their repair skills in all kinds of fields to help repair broken items brought in by visitors. It is a learning experience for young and old.
If you have nothing to repair, come anyway and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee and learn by watching or you can lend a hand with someone else’s repair job. You can also get inspired at the reading table – by leafing through books on repairs and DIY.
There are over 2,500 Repair Cafés worldwide. Bayou of Saddle River is the one in your area!
See also the house rules we use at the Repair Café. We always welcome new volunteers, so please sign up!
