GOODBYE BARNSTABLE COURT

Dear Bayou Guests,

These past weeks have been a beautiful reminder of the community that grew within Bayou. I am so grateful for each and every one of you.
So many of you came in to support Bayou, and we’ve shared tears, hugs, and the most beautiful words. I will carry those moments with me always.

Since opening in 2023, my dream was to create more than a gift and craft store. I hoped to build a space filled with warmth, creativity, and connection; a place where people could gather, celebrate, and feel at home. Hearing so many of you say that Bayou became your “home away from home” has been the greatest gift I could have received.

Bayou has truly been a labor of love. But despite everything, sustaining the business has brought challenges I can no longer overcome. When my lease ended, I decided not to renew. With a heavy heart, I share that my final day of operation was April 30, and I have now moved out of Bayou’s sweet location.

While this chapter is closing, it is not the end. I will continue working freelance, organizing private parties and creative gatherings, and creating meaningful, inclusive experiences for individuals with life challenges such as dementia and autism. I look forward to bringing people together through joyful, artsy experiences in new spaces. There will also be more time now for family, and for returning to personal art and creative passions.

To everyone who walked through Bayou’s door; who shared a moment, a conversation, a hug, or a quiet connection, thank you. Bayou was never just a place; it was all of you.

If you would like to learn more about a private party at your home, with a craft guided by me, or if you have a family member who you think would benefit from private crafts with me, please reach out for more info.
